Hello, my name is Darius Buckley! I'm a young Detroit recording artist and writer. I've been singing since I was 4 years old and in those 19 years, I've performed with ensembles that opened for John Legend, Harry Belafonte, and President Barack Obama. I also had the privilege to tour as a backup singer for Josh Groban twice. I'm thankful to have had great training from singing with my Mom in our church's choir as a kid to being classically trained with the award-winning Mosaic Singers.
I've been writing music and recording music for almost a decade and I had the opportunity to write and direct an original Detroit hip hop musical. I’ve also written and directed multiple indie short films such as The DEFY Film, 5: A Visual Poem, and the upcoming mini documentary, Making Tyrone. My dream is not only to tour the world but continue creating genre bending music that sparks a dream in people. I'm making music for dreamers like me, especially nerdy black kids that want to change the world.
